How to stick to your meal plan and keep costs down
- Never Shopping when Hungry – this one Vital
- Write a List and Stick to it.
- Avoid packaged meals – cooking from scratch doesn’t always take time.
- Eat plenty of fresh vegetables and fruit by shopping the special offers
- Try to add a Meat-free meal to your diet at least once a week
- Shop in budget stores Aldi and Lidl which keep their prices low and have weekly special buys

Valentine’s Meal Planning – recipes
Pork chops were €3.00 last week so I grab some to make this tasty Cajun Pork Casserole it is perfect for this snowy weather we are currently having as it is a warming slow-cooker dish.
Tip: Slow-cooking is a cheaper way of cooking and frees up lots of your time

Valentine’s for those in love and you need a special dish to make your loved ones heart sing. This delicious Creamy Chicken White Wine Sauce with Crispy Bacon is perfect for Valentine’s day and make this fabulous Strawberry heart Pavlova for dessert= it is bound to impress
Wednesday is usually Pizza night in our house but as it is valentine’s I will move it to Thursday. This Tasty Stuff Crust Pizza. so actually easy to make and with low fat Mozzarella makes this a healthier meal. You can also buy Gluten-free baked Margarita Pizza from Lidl for €2.49.
Tip – Stock up on specialist food like Gluten-free or Organic when it is on offer
Stewing Beef is on special in Lidl this week and you can make this Amazing Slow Cooker Catalan Beef Casserole as a tasty dinner. It is great for cold winter days
Tip: You can get Spices and herbs quite cheaply and they make dishes pop
These Tasty Mackerel Fish Cakes are perfect for getting fish into kids that won’t usually eat it unless it is in fish-finger form.
TIP: Fish is good for you and tasty
On Sunday I will be cooking our usual Roast Chicken -Lidl has a chicken on Special this week for €3. I will serve it with lots of Veggies from the garden. For dessert I will make these Gluten Free Chocolate Blueberry Mini Brownies as blueberries are on special offer this week.
Tip: using special offer fruits in your dessert mean you can have a treat with your Sunday dinner
