Menu Planning Monday – Halloween time 2016
Good Morning, I hope you are doing well this Monday Morning. Welcome to Menu Planning Monday for Halloween time 2106 where I share recipes, printables and Money saving tips.
I can’t believe it is Halloween Time- yes I know Halloween is next week but it is Pumpkin Festival week in our Town and the weekend is a bank holiday so it all runs into one ! If you want to learn more about Menu Planning and how to get started you can check out my post on How to Start Menu Planning.

So what is on the Menu this Week ?
Tonight I really hadn’t a clue what to have, so I checked the freezer and we had some shrimp I had forgotten about. Then I went to Pinterest and found this awesome recipe for Baked Butter Garlic Shrimp by Maria at Real Life Dinners .I honestly think it looks amazing !! Go check out Real Life Dinner’s site for some tasty looking recipes.
In my hunt in the freezer, I also found chicken legs. So I will be making Easy Chinese Chicken with Five Spice Stir fry. I might even make some Pineapple fritters for afters and I have a printable recipe for Pineapple Fritters you can use.
It is Pizza night on Wednesdays as usually, I go shopping and am exhausted after. I also make it with my Homemade Wedges which makes me feel less guilty for having a cheat night.
I have another wonderful slow cooker recipe to share with you on Thursday. This Beef Stroganoff recipe is tasty and low in fat I will be making it on Thursday and so can you by popping in to get the recipe and make it too.
Every week I try and shop the specials in the supermarkets to help save money. This week in Aldi there is a special on their butcher’s style sausages which are very tasty. I am going to serve the sausages with Colcannon – Colcannon is a traditional Irish dish made of Potato and Curly kale. I always associate Colcannon with Halloween, My Auntie Jennie used to serve up huge batches of it with coins wrapped in baking parchment to find.
Everyone in the house will be excited about Virginia Pumpkin Festival and I know that the best thing to serve is something in the slow cooker which is easy and filling. So I am making my Spicy Pork Casserole which people can just grab as they are getting ready.
I know it is not Halloween yet but you can always get in the mood with my Creepy Chocolate Cupcakes which I am going to make with my girls.
Dinner will be the usual Roast dinner and we can have Creepy Chocolate cupcakes for dessert.
Another thing I will be making this week is Spicy Pumpkin Soup – it is a great soup for using up pumpkin guts when you have lots of Pumpkins to carve.
