How does Menu Planning Save you Money ?
Menu Planning Mondays are here to save you money – How you may wonder ? Well if you plan your menu each week, you can plan around the shop specials and you also don’t spend extra money on takeaways and impulse buys.
Menu Planning needn’t take long, it usually takes me 15 minutes on a Sunday Morning. You can read all about my Menu Planning process in my How to start Menu planning post . Follow it and you will be set up for the week and to make things easier for you I have a downloadable Menu Planner and a shopping list for you to use.
Here is this week’s menu in the Snapshots and Snippets House
Tonight we are having dinner thanks to Ikea – I love the meatballs from Ikea and I picked some up for the freezer and we are having them tonight because I was working today which is why Menu Planning Monday is a little late ! Art and the Kitchen does a very good recipe if you haven’t an Ikea near you and want to try them
I will be making Vegetarian Spaghetti this week – Aldi do a marvelous meat-less mince that is great for this kind of meal and can fool the toughest carnivore into eating it.
I am attending the National Enterprising Women’s Day ,as part of work , something I am quite proud to be involved in but that means I will be out all day. Quick and easy dinner is the only thing to stop me heading for the takeaway menu – so we are having Pizza and Homemade Wedges.
Mediterranean Chicken Pasta is a dish I came up with the other week. This week is perfect for making it, as Chicken Thighs are on Special in Aldi great for saving money. I will be sharing the recipe on Thursday so you can try it yourself and it is good I promise and Teenager approved. It is a perfect slow-cooker dish and slow cookers are the best invention ever !!
Another of this week’s specials in Aldi is Angus Beef Burgers and I adore Sweet potato fries from Eddie Rockets ( they are Amazing) . So I am going to try and make my own Sweet Potato fries using this recipe from Cookie and Kate .
I will be making my infamous Slow-cooker Chili – it is really good and can be used in so many ways. You could just spoon it over jacket potatoes or serve it in Tacos with all the trimmings. My lot love it in Enchiladas or served over Nachos with cheese.
Roast dinner as usual with all the trimming, honestly,Sunday wouldn’t be Sunday without it. And I will be making this gorgeous Apple and Maple Slice for dessert. This is a dessert that looks and tastes great.
So this is all this week’s recipes I hope you enjoyed them. Don’t forget to check back on Thursday for my Mediterranean Chicken Pasta.
