I love Christmas time, I love putting up the tree, I love wrapping presents and I love Christmas music.And when it comes to Christmas time food is nearly as important as the Christmas presents. Well, it is important to me and my family.
And I will be honest with you, I hate most mince pies ! Shocking I know for a Christmas lover, I find them too dry and stodgy. I only like them when they are small and tasty like my Salted Caramel Pastry Mince pies.
So when I was asked to come up with a mincemeat recipe that a mince pie hater would like, I knew it would be a challenge!
But this light and tasty Puff Pastry Slice with lashing of juicy Mincemeat and little icing stars hit the spot. Especially when served with Bailey’s Cream for the grown up.

- Ready to Roll Puff Pastry 89c
- Aldi Specially Selected Mincemeat 1.99
- White Icing 1.49 ( Optional)
- 1 Egg
- 50g Melted butter – 1.49
This will make two Mincemeat puff Pastry slices or you could use the puff pastry to make one of my Autumn Fruit Tarts . Which you could bring with you to a Christmas Party and get lots of praise for, without having to learn the finer arts of pastry making.
