Happy National Pineapple upside-down cake day
National Pineapple Upside-Down Cake Day is observed annually on April 20th. People have been enjoying this springtime cake since the early 1900s when many cakes were made in cast iron skillets.
The classic American ‘Pineapple Upside-Down Cake’ dates to sometime after 1903, when Jim Dole invented canned pineapple.
Personally, this Delicious Pineapple Upside-down cake reminds me of my childhood in the 70’s. It reminds me of yellow and brown wallpaper and sunny days in Australia which is where I first tasted this cake, which seems quite apt
And I can’t believe that I have never shared this recipe with you on Snapshot and Snippets. Trust me I had to look to see!! Oh, and we don’t use cherries because my kids hate those candy red ones.
