Tasty but Low-Calorie Slow-cooker Beef Stroganoff
Beef stroganoff is one of those dishes that is so suited to the slowcooker – the meat becomes so soft and the creamy sauce is pure heaven without too many calories.

Instructions
  1. In a skillet heat the olive oil and add the onions and the stewing beef and the garlic, brown the meat.
  2. Add in the mushrooms and season with the salt and pepper.
  3. Add the beef, onions and mushrooms to the slowcooker and pour over the beef stock or consumme.
  4. Cook on high for 3- 4 hours ( depending on your slowcooker ) or low for 6 hours
  5. In the last hour add the creme fraiche or soft cheese and stir though.
  6. Serve over egg noodles – you can make it healthier by getting wholemeal egg noodles.
