Sticky Toffee Pudding Cake?
Sticky toffee pudding brings me straight back to childhood in Britain circa 1970’s. It reminds me of my Nana’s kitchen and those hideous yellow and orange tiles of the 70’s. Or School dinners and sticky goop in plastic pots masquerading as pudding! This recipe is nothing like that it is a luscious, sticky, light cake with all the tasty but none of the steaming up your kitchen.
This recipe is nothing like that- it is a luscious, sticky, light cake with all the tasty but none of the steaming up your kitchen. It is quicker to make and tastes just as good if not better. It is a new family favourite, although I have to be careful as this Sticky Toffee Pudding is not calorie friendly!
When I first started planning this recipe I knew I didn’t want to have to steam a pudding. So I decided to try a sticky toffee “cake” version. It was just as delicious as I remember – fantastic in fact !! It is lighter version of Sticky Toffee Pudding with dates and walnuts but still has that yummy sticky toffee that we all love.
You could serve this tasty Sticky Toffee Cake with Ice-cream or Custard or plain Cream. They would all be incredible but you can eat it on its own.
And it is best, warm straight from the oven!
